On October 5th, 2018, Northwest Tool & Manufacturing will be hosting it’s 2nd Annual Manufacturing Day Open House. Manufacturing Day began in 2012 to address common misperceptions about manufacturing by giving manufacturers an opportunity to open their doors and show their community what manufacturing is — and what it isn’t.

This Monday brings another new machine into our facility. Our new 2018 Yama Seiki GLS-200 Lathe was delivered this morning, August 20th, 2018.  This machine is replacing our 1993 Mazak Quick Turn 18, which turned 25 this year when it finally wore out.  This new Yama Seiki will be used primarily on our higher run production jobs.  Having another new machine in this area means we will have less down time with breakdowns or machine malfunctions. …

On August 7th, our newest piece of machinery, a Milltronics VK4II 3-axis CNC Knee Mill arrived. It isn’t set up and running yet, but here is a sneak peek. This machine will be replacing our Bridgeport EZ Trak Programmable Mill. We are excited for this new piece of machinery to decrease our run times and increase our capacity and capabilities.  Stay Tuned!

On Friday, July 27th, Northwest Tool held our 2nd Annual Northwest Tool Golf Outing.  The outing was held at Trapp River Golf Course in Wausau. This outing gives us a chance to thank our customers and vendors for their support over the past year, and spend some time catching up.

Calling all Machinists!

We just posted a new video of shrink fitting parts on our YouTube channel. This was a very interesting process to witness, so we wanted to share with our followers.  This video features Dave and Alex doing the shrink fitting. Shrink fitting is done using thermal expansion. These parts would not go together unless one expands and the other shrinks. First, you’ll see Alex heating the roller up using a torch.

We have filled both our 2nd Shift CNC Position and our Office Cleaner positions. Currently, we have all positions filled!  Thank you to everyone who applied.  Stay tuned for more job openings in the future.
